A Discussion with Nelson Dong on Careers in International Law
Nelson Dong is a retired Partner at Dorsey & Whitney, a former Special Assistant at the U.S. Department of Justice, and a former Professor of Business Law at Seattle University. He is also a board member of the Council for Foreign Relations and the National Bureau of Asian Research.
Discussion with Special Forces Civil Affairs Army Officer Capt. Benjamin White
Recently returning from a deployment in Kosovo, where he led a squad of Special Forces Civil Affairs soldiers, Capt. White offered an insightful introduction to the Civil Affairs Brigade. He highlighted its pivotal role in fostering relationships with local communities and gathering crucial intelligence to support operational success.

Rainier Institute representatives were invited to a closed door seminar hosted by NBR and the Sejong Institute. The seminar focused on how the growing security and diplomatic ties between the U.S. and South Korea is impacting East-Asia's political landscape.

Daniel Cheng, a former Peace Corp Operational Director in Ukraine and current CISA Administrative officer gave an insightful career talk for Rainier Institute members. He discussed the challenges he faced serving overseas in crisis areas and gave advice for those interested in pursuing a career in the federal government.
